Why we started
Everyone has a moving horror story: the scratched floors, the box marked "fragile" that arrived in pieces, the crew that treated a dining table like a battering ram. We started Waldorf Moving Company because we believed a moving company could simply be careful — pad every doorway, wrap every corner, and treat a stranger's things the way we would want ours treated.
How we work
Every move starts with a free in-home estimate. We walk through your home, look at what is actually moving, and price the job on that — not on a phone guess. On moving day the crew leader does a walkthrough with you before anything is touched, and another one at the end before we leave. If something needs special handling — a glass tabletop, a big-screen TV, a heavy sleeper sofa — we say so up front and bring the right gear.
What we will not do
We do not rush a job to get to the next one. We do not stack heavy boxes on light ones. And we do not surprise you with charges at the end of the day. The estimate we give is the plan we follow, and if moving day brings a surprise — a piano nobody mentioned, a third-floor walk-up — we talk it through with you before we touch it, not after.
If that sounds like the way a move should go, call (301) 679-9193 or send the form for a free in-home estimate.
